Review on πŸ” Extech CB10 Circuit Breaker Finder: Locate Fuses/Breakers, Test Receptacles and GFCI Circuits by Michael Duman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Already Paid

This deserves 5 stars for me. This device has already paid for itself plus something. I don't understand the "trash" reviews about this. I've always been afraid to mess around with anything electrical, but the house I bought has a switch box with about 40 switches. The previous owners did not specifically label each circuit breaker. I put the unit in the basement and found that the sockets behind and next to the refrigerator, the fan and the light bulb in the hood do not work. Other outlets around her worked. There were no breakers in the box, so I used this tool to find out which circuit breakers were connected to surrounding work outlets. Then I cycled each circuit breaker on either side of the newly labeled switches. Success! So now not only do I know which switch does what, I was able to determine that the dead socket switch just needed to be reset because it didn't turn off the switch. Now I can also install the newly bought kitchen lamp instead of having to call someone. So this device has already saved me at least one visit to an electrician.

Pros
  • GFCI Transmitter: GFCI Circuit Tests | LED display of 2 test conditions and 5 wiring errors | tests reverse/open connections | Indicators show circuit status
Cons
  • Useless features
