Review on Northside Icicle Weather Unisex Toddler Boys' Shoes ~ Outdoor by Keith Harris

snowballs below!

This is the worst! We ordered different boots in different styles for our 3 year old. After trying them all, we decided to keep these. The quality is excellent. They are warm, waterproof, easy to put on and take off, even for our little ones. BUT they cannot be worn in the snow! The sole of the boot has a strange fibrous material that collects snow into huge blocks of ice. After a few steps in the snow, there is so much snow on the sole of the shoe that walking is impossible. We tried to shake off the snow (it's very difficult, by the way), but the long fibers also come loose and then collect more snow. Burning works best but this must be done every time we come out of the snow (after all the clods have melted and the boots have dried) since every time we put on shoes more fibers come out. Perhaps the afterburn will eventually become a permanent fix, but by then winter will likely be over. For the record, we've been using them for about 3 months and live in upstate New York (Adirondacks). Looks like a HUGE design flaw. How could they not test them in the snow? In addition, they are dangerous when there are huge snowballs on the boots. My toddler has fallen a lot and I'm also worried that he'll sprain his ankles. Now he doesn't want to play outside anymore. So sad. The manufacturer should be ashamed. for the record, we have been using them for about 3 months and live in upstate new york (adirondacks). Looks like a HUGE design flaw.
