Review on Honeywell RWD80/A1 Water Defense Water Sensing Alarm Extension Cable: Ensure Enhanced Protection with this Effective Accessory by Ryan Hart

Good product, unlimited use Honeywell

This was the perfect accessory for the system I was building to monitor the pump room. This is a remote location and therefore audible alarms were not possible. For flood detection, I paired this with a GEREE 12V Soil Moisture Sensor Control Module, an automatic watering module. I am using a relay output to connect to a zone on an ethernet enabled alarm panel to send text messages to cell phones, it works great. To connect the module I used a standard phone cord fitted with a standard phone jack (RJ11) connected to pins 1 and 4 (yellow and black). Tests have shown that a few drops of water aren't enough to set off the alarm, but full immersion in water is reliable (exactly what we wanted). After removing the water, it takes about 20-30 minutes to return to normal. Other elements used in this installation: VISTA20P - Ademco 8-zone control panel; Eyez-On Envisalink EVL-4EZR IP security interface module for DSC and Honeywell (Ademco) security systems; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H05WDS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Of course you can use a zone programmed for a 24 hour [silent] alarm on any alarm panel.
