Most of the time it works for me but there is an annoying bug, at least when used on the CBS350 series: This transceiver reports to the device as 10 -Gigabit fiber with a connection speed of 10 gigabits, regardless of the actual connection speed of the connected device. This correctly negotiates the link speed at the transceiver level and transmits packets at 1 Gigabit and 2.5 Gigabit speeds. However, I am concerned that the switch thinks it can carry 10 gigabits per link. I have no idea what problems this will cause in practice, but I expect high packet loss as I get closer to link speed since the switch doesn't know it needs to buffer packets. Of course, you can lower your connection speed to 1 gigabit, but the CBS350 series doesn't allow you to force the speed to 2.5 or 5 gigabits. I don't know if these problems are Cisco bugs, bugs in the transceiver's firmware, or a combination of the above. In any event, until this reporting issue is resolved, I would probably avoid this transceiver on a Cisco 350 series hardware if you plan to use a link speed other than 10 gigabit or 1 gigabit.
