Working in Aruba Instant-On 1930

Received iperf3 9.22 Gb/s results from client (45ft Cat6) and host through my switch. The client NIC uses an ASUS XG-C100C host with Mellanox ConnectX-3. It gets pretty hot, but that seems to be common with these 10GBase-T transceivers. Just let it cool (or put on gloves) if you need to take it off, it's not difficult.

Pros
  • Great value for money
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Connection frequently breaks with CRS305-1G-4S+IN

I bought two of these 10GBase-T modules. On one side the module is connected to a CRS305-1G-4S+IN and on the other side to a Connectx-3 card on my desktop via a QSFP-SFP+ adapter. The one that does not work stably in Mikrotik CRS305-1G-4S + IN periodically turns off. Sometimes it came back after a few seconds, sometimes it stayed disconnected until I unplugged it, let it cool to room temperature, and plugged it back in. The one on my desktop seems to be working fine thanks to the heating of the

Works best in Nexus in Computers and Accessories

I recently bought a Cisco Nexus 3064-X with 48 10Gb/s SFP+ ports. I needed something that would allow me to connect a FreeNas server to my new switch using two 10Gigabit RJ45 network adapters. I took a chance and bought four of these and high quality CAT8 cables to ensure a reliable 10Gb/s connection with the new switch. So far they have worked flawlessly. I now have two 10GB links to my FreeNAS server and I used the other two to connect my pfSense router to my Nexus via LACP. The pfSenseโ€ฆ

Picky on my setup

I'm giving this 4 stars because I'm not entirely sure if the modules are to blame, it could be an incompatibility or different hardware in my setup. They seem to be working after several transplants, I may have done something to get them working but I'm not sure what it was at the moment. I use the same module on both ends. 1 on my Mikrotik CRS317 and 1 on my Mellanox ConnectX-3 (Dell OEM if that matters) connected with a 75ft Cat7 cable. I've given up trying to figure out what the problem was.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Replacement availability

No link speed detection on the Cisco CBS350 series

Most of the time it works for me but there is an annoying bug, at least when used on the CBS350 series: This transceiver reports to the device as 10 -Gigabit fiber with a connection speed of 10 gigabits, regardless of the actual connection speed of the connected device. This correctly negotiates the link speed at the transceiver level and transmits packets at 1 Gigabit and 2.5 Gigabit speeds. However, I am concerned that the switch thinks it can carry 10 gigabits per link. I have no idea whatโ€ฆ

Solid, works well. Curiously, 850nm multimode fiber is reported.

Used in MikroTik CRS305-1G-4S+IN 10GbE switch. Remember that 1GBASE-T modules require more power than fiber or DAC modules, so they run hotter - any 1GBASE-T module will do. Make sure your device can handle it! I had some issues with the first device I received. It worked for a few days and then lost connection. I had to reset by removing and reinserting the module and then it worked again for a few days. However, HiFiber contacted me directly as soon as I reported this issue and sent meโ€ฆ
