I got my TS80P from another website. So things have changed a bit from my previous review. First, my old TS80's OLED screen got so dark it was unreadable. Second, Miniware have released a range of different 3.5mm jacks so I finally have a hoof attachment. Finally, the TS80P was released, whose power circuit was upgraded to support USB Power Delivery up to 30W, almost double the 18W of its predecessor. You don't have to use the adapter that came with the iron though, you can still use the 18w QC3 battery I suggested. although, to be honest, this option is very rare (Omnicharge could be a good option). The push handle/collar can be cumbersome, but they bolt on in the same way as the TS80 collar. So if you're upgrading like me, just swap them out. The heat up looks pretty quick, but the TS80 was quick enough too, so I don't notice much of a difference. As with all Miniware irons, you can flash IronOS on the TS80P to unlock tons of features. If like me you have Nova LED signage software installed, the hardware may show up as a Nova device in Windows (probably due to the STM32 controller). In this case, you need to find the STM32 device in Device Manager and manually change the driver to the USB stick. After that, any firmware update or downgrade should work as usual. Overall the upgrade is good, but the new RISC-V Pinecil looks interesting and is worth the money.
