The description of this product does not indicate an important feature that prevents the effective use of sockets with motion sensors: it only works when the control socket is connected to the TV. and this tv is on. This renders these jacks unusable in non-audio/video applications. If you want to use this to turn on the light in a room when you enter the room or in my case provide protection against turning off things like irons that you might forget to turn off when not in use, works not this strip. Since this feature doesn't exist, I can't comment on how well it does the job of motion detection.
