I was looking for "the last tarp I ever bought" to complete my car camping kit. I looked at different options and decided on this one. I didn't know exactly what to expect, I figured they were better than a regular tarp. Simply put, I was amazed at the quality. You mean the super power mode! The 12x16 tarp I bought probably weighs over 20 pounds each. They are thick and bulky and easily take up at least twice the space of a regular tarp. The corners have strong triangular reinforcements and the sockets are high quality and securely fastened. I honestly think these things could easily survive a Category 5 hurricane, although I won't go that far. While I'm quite happy with the product, I don't think I need to go that far when it comes to the quality of the camping tarpaulin. While I'm sure they can last me a lifetime and be passed down to my grandkids' grandkids, I probably would have preferred a slightly lighter weight. Sometimes I travel by plane, which quickly results in exceeding my luggage weight limits. So, I think I actually need something like an 8-10 mil tarp for my camping purposes. I often attach canvas to canvas poles, I'm a little concerned that they can put a lot of strain on my small canvas poles, especially in light winds. This would be a great choice for a boat or toy cover, or a tarp to cover stacks of firewood. They will also work well to protect the structure. You could probably use them to build an almost permanent structure with some snow load if you wanted to. I think they would work well for my woodpiles and I decided to keep them for this purpose instead. I'll even order at least two more now that I know what I'm getting myself into. The bottom line is that these heavy-duty tarps make regular heavy-duty tarps cheap!
