Review on Smiths DCS4 4 Inch Diamond Sharpening by Mike Modesto

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The thing belongs! suitable for power tools and hand tools

OK. am i professional NO! I also don't want to spend more than 30 minutes creating the perfect edge. Sharp knife (really sharp) in 5 minutes (maximum) = perfect. What I have: Smith's Adjustable Edge Pro (electric), Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker, YUKSY Premium Knife whetstone kit. What I want to try: KME Precision Knife Sharpener System or a great fake (you know what I mean). Feedback: Smith's: Blades are chipping and just not good = regret buying this thing is bad. Spyderco is the best I have, nice perk, long time to get the perk. Yuksy (or any stone system) - wet, takes time = good result. THIS THING is a sacred cow! GIVE ME 40 seconds and I'll put a razor blade on almost anything! People complain about the pen - it is not needed. It has a cute lace tip - well designed! I'm a perfectionist - I want to find the perfect system. It can be. But I'll try KME anyway (I want to see the mirror edge). If you're looking for the dreaded sharpness (the right way to crack a lash that's fallen on edge), keep looking. If you want an edge sharp enough for 100% cutting, this is your tool. This is my top - I will give feedback when I compare it to KME.

Pros
  • Tools and household goods
Cons
  • Not as thick as other pickaxes
