Review on AMD Phenom II X4 940 💻 Black Edition 3.0GHz AM2+ Processor - Retail by Kenma Kenta ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am amazed at how well the product is made, just magically!

At 3.7 GHz it is also stable (1 hour of Linpak), but lowered to 3.6 just in case. At 3.8, the test already gave an error somewhere in the ninth minute. This is all at 1.265 volts. I didn’t even try to look for the overclocking ceiling by raising the voltage, because it makes sense in the extra. I don't see any heat dissipation at excessive performance. I also overclocked the memory controller to 2600 MHz, voltage - 1.225 V. - the results of tests with memory improved significantly. Here it makes more sense to disperse it. In general, I’m satisfied with the process, I think it’s definitely enough for a couple of years, if not more . unless, of course, I don’t want to buy a new toy earlier)

Pros
  • I got it in exchange for Athlone II x4 620 + 4 GB of consumer-grade RAM. Revision C3 (125 W). It turned out to be not hotter than Athlone in terms of heat dissipation; I lowered the voltage to 1.265 V. and overclocked it to 3.6 GHz.
Cons
  • The box cooler even at the nominal frequency does not keep the temperature within 62 and makes a lot of noise, I installed the good old Titan for 500.)

Has some pros AMD has switched to thinner tech. 45 nm process. This processor is the first result. Accordingly, less TDP, better acceleration. Cons: Unfortunately, in the high-end segment, it is still inferior to top-end Intel stones.
