ORIGINAL PROBLEM: Door lock motor does not work on my original. The door was locked but would not open. The door handle worked without any problems and I had to open it manually from the inside. The engine made a howling noise when unlocking with the remote control or the buttons on the d. FIRST VERIFICATION: When I took it out of the box it matched my service manual with no issues, and mechanically it worked fine in my hand, apart from the motor, which I couldn't test. It's gotten a little easier. The seal around the door handle is missing. SWITCH: Removed the door, then out the old one and in the new one. Installation went without problems. I felt everything was fine and checked the door with no problems. Unlocking/locking now works as expected. I closed the bolt with the door open, working with both handles. Then I closed the door and found I couldn't open it. I thought the lock was working again. I could see it unlocking and locking inside, but it wouldn't open. Yes, I made sure that the child lock is deactivated. DIAGNOSIS: I noticed that this drive was lighter around the locking mechanism. I pulled them both out to compare and the original definitely felt heavier. It's annoying to waste money and time and return it later only to get the same thing again. All I needed was an engine, and I figured I'd eat the expense. Original and newly developed. The original definitely had much stronger metal components that felt heavier than new ones. The locking mechanism seemed cheaper and the springs felt weak. I pulled out the motor, connector and helical gear and replaced them with my old ones. I tried putting it back together but the lighter metal on the new one kept falling apart and the spring in the latch felt weak compared to the old one. The inner clip that went to the latch looked like it was slightly bent and wasn't putting enough pressure on the latch to work properly. END: Not recommended. Maybe I got a bad one, but it really felt worse than the original. But I think you get what you pay for except that it had 2 main tasks and one of them didn't work. I recommend paying extra for the original or wasting your time swapping parts.
