One step up. Very good design and optics. I have 10x. When carefully compared to other optics, it appears to be more of an 8x magnification than a 10x. But don't let that fool you, it's well made and looks like a lifetime investment. I think if you want 6x order 8x. Very convenient. A good case has arrived. Very easy to keep stable. But you won't see as well with binoculars of the same quality. Knowing the quality, I would have paid more (I paid 34.99). Easy 5 stars.
