Devilishly bad mount in some ways

To me the screws that came with this mount were silver metal instead of black metal, appeared to be good quality and worked well. But after installing other fasteners, I know the iron bolts are not good and should be replaced. The swivel mechanism works perfectly, allowing the TV to rotate a full 180 degrees. That works great. The tilting mechanism (adjustable from 0 to -15 degrees) relies on friction (!) to keep the TV at the desired angle. This is bad as hell. let me explain. If most of your TV's weight is below where the TV mount is attached, your TV will want to drop to 0 degrees. If you tilt it down to -5 degrees (so that it points down a bit), it wants to roll back to 0 degrees. So there is a screw that you tighten to force two pieces of metal together to keep the temperature at -5 degrees. Smooth metal finishes that will never last. An uneven weight always loosens this screw, the metal slips off and your TV "falls" back to 0 degrees. But if your TV is the same as mine (Vizio 70 inch) where the bulk of the TV's weight is over where the bracket attaches to the TV, the TV will always loosen the screw and the TV will suddenly tip forward -15 degrees. (face down) as the metal slides. In theory, you can adjust the tilt from 0 to -15 degrees with this TV mount, but in practice your TV will always tilt to either 0 or -15 degrees, depending on the weight distribution of the TV. It's useless and terrible, worse than no inclination at all. In fact, the only solution is to drill holes (in the metal) and add a few screws to get the angle you want. unless, of course, your TV is in the desired position. The holes in the hardware that attaches to the TV don't seem to be accurate, so they just don't match my standard TV. Again, additional holes can be drilled in the metal, but with a better design this part can handle many more TVs. You might get lucky with this mount and the mount will work well with your TV. But for my TV this mount is terrible.

Pros
  • Excellent overall
Cons
  • Doubtful
