Review on Bulova B1514 Asheville Mantel Clock: Elegant Brown Cherry Design + Superior Timekeeping by Johnny Grant

This watch seemed like the perfect price for a very nice watch with battery operated plastic inside. Based on some other reviews I think I was lucky that my watch arrived undamaged. I was planning on using the clock silently, but after hearing the chime and turning the volume down to the lowest setting, I decided to try the Westminster 4x4 chime (with the night silence option enabled). Now I'm just in love with these clocks and chimes and everything. Complaints about the "tinny" sound infuriate me since this isn't a stereo with a subwoofer. I think it sounds exactly as it should and would if it were actually ringing in the tiny, great-sounding metal bells inside the watch. As mentioned by others, be sure to follow the instructions CAREFULLY when setting your watch for the first time. Also notice where the instructions warn you that once the time is set, it can take up to an hour for the bells to start ringing at the right time.
