I have my own homemade bed lift using this pair of 17" 40 lb stands and a pair Mounting brackets with ball built cleats, a pair of outside corner braces, and a pair of 4" long 1x4 pieces. Total cost was $37. I have a lightweight Evergreen RV Queen mattress with a 2" gel foam pillow in my RV. This pair of 40 -pound spacer was the perfect balance of keeping the lid closed while still giving enough buoyancy to hold the plywood base.I needed a few adjustments to the top bracket to get the correct closure length but it didn't make a huge one difference.Once I figured out the dimensions, I glued the wood and screwed the mounting screws into the top brackets for extra strength. Works great.
