Review on Universal Car Rack Kayak Carrier Set of 4 with Bow and Stern Lines from Malone Saddle Up Pro by Adam French

Best of the best on roof racks

I recently purchased a 3 person family kayak, a 15ft 3in Dirigo Tandem Plus two seater kayak for Old Town recreation. The kayak weighs about 80 pounds. I want to take a kayak for hiking. I absolutely need a good kayak carrier. I did a lot of research and even ordered an L-shaped stretcher. But in my opinion the L shape is not very well designed (it has a lot of good reviews). I finally decided to try this carrier even though there are no reviews for it yet. The material is very well processed. Bolts and screws are strong and smooth. The design is well thought out. My 80kg kayak sits firmly on the trunk and doesn't move at all when I drive and turn. The pieces are solid, I feel like a person sitting in a carriage. Mountain and kayak go together perfectly. I went to the hardware store and bought two quicker tension mounts ($10 total), so I didn't use the strips that came with the mount. I have a feeling that every load on the roof of a car needs such a fastening. This is just my recommendation. In general, the carrier is very reliable, well thought out and well made. This is my best investment along with a kayak. If you have a big kayak like me, you will love this rack.
