    Holds a large 70 pound fishing kayak

    I have a large 36" wide, 10 foot long fishing kayak with a triple hull that is too big for a J mount. This mount works great. The kit comes with two sets of mounts, one is rigid with a felt insert for sliding, the other is a flexible rubber mount, I think I would have preferred to have two sets of flexible rubber mounts just because of the design of my kayak hull , but since I installed them on a 2010 Nissan Pathfinder LE I think Malone's installation guide is wrong My factory crossbars are…

    Easy Installation - Kayak, Canoe & SUP Stands

    The Malone Saddle Up Pro was easy to install and was able to hold my 34 inch wide, 91 pound fishing kayak where most kayak mounting modules can't could t. The extra socks make it easier to push the kayak forward. The saddles flex to conform to my kayak's body shape while absorbing some of the pressure from the bindings/strap that hold the kayak to the roof. - Production packaging is always thrown into the box.     Best of the best on roof racks

    I recently purchased a 3 person family kayak, a 15ft 3in Dirigo Tandem Plus two seater kayak for Old Town recreation. The kayak weighs about 80 pounds. I want to take a kayak for hiking.     Perfect fit for my Ocean Kayak Malibu 2 XL

    I was looking for something that can handle a large (13.5ft, 60#s) kayak on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I live in Old Town, Maine (Canoe City) and even the tour guide told me that traditional kayak mounts would not support the load of this boat. It would be best to simply tie the boat to the roof rack cross members, perhaps with roof rack washers. After reading a bit I decided to try these racks to hold the boat in place.     UPDATE: I realized I used the straps incorrectly for the attachment. You are supposed to go through the top of the kayak, under the cross bars, back through the top, under the other side bar and then zip up. I would love to be able to do this and Malone's instructions show it, but the straps are about 30cm short.     Works well (for some kayaks)

    The overall quality of this carrier system is good. All parts feel solid and attach nicely and securely to my factory Subaru cross members. Fabric covers for the rear saddles make the kayak easier to slide and the straps, guy lines and hooks are of good quality.
