Review on Universal Car Rack Kayak Carrier Set of 4 with Bow and Stern Lines from Malone Saddle Up Pro by Jathan Louis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fits 4Runner and 2004 Jackson Big Tuna (almost)

UPDATE: I realized I used the straps incorrectly for the attachment. You are supposed to go through the top of the kayak, under the cross bars, back through the top, under the other side bar and then zip up. I would love to be able to do this and Malone's instructions show it, but the straps are about 30cm short. All I had to do was use a strap across, then go under the Big Tuna (wrap around the crossbar to prevent wind wobble), then zip up. It's pretty secure, but I wish this dual strap was more secure. I texted Malone to take the star for now. I have never carried a kayak or anything like that on my 2004 4Runner. I'm short, so I had to use a ladder to reach everything, but I was able to pop the trunk on the stock crossbars and carry home a 14-foot Jackson Big Tuna after driving 45 miles on back roads and freeways. The kayak fits directly into the saddles with posts mounted on the ends of the crossbars. Big Tuna is 35.5 inches wide and needs full width. We tuck the nose into the rear saddle, push it forward and let it settle on the A-pillars. No complaints and I recommend the 2004 4Runner with the Jackson Big Tuna kayak.
