I have a large 36" wide, 10 foot long fishing kayak with a triple hull that is too big for a J mount. This mount works great. The kit comes with two sets of mounts, one is rigid with a felt insert for sliding, the other is a flexible rubber mount, I think I would have preferred to have two sets of flexible rubber mounts just because of the design of my kayak hull , but since I installed them on a 2010 Nissan Pathfinder LE I think Malone's installation guide is wrong My factory crossbars are flatter than oval but the installation guide called for 80mm bolts I ended up using the smaller 50mm ones Used screws that come with the kit and it works great. Another note, the lines are about 11 feet long and wrap Don't worry about the kayak. If you have a larger boat, buy longer straps.
