I ordered 2 very similar turtlenecks (same style, different fabric composition) to wear as base layers with other clothes: one from MsBasic and one from APRLL. Both smelled really bad from the packaging at first, like old car exhaust or burnt plastic. I do not know what you are talking about. They were both in plastic bags, and while they were sent together by Revain, it's unlikely that one picked up the other's scent. (I wouldn't be surprised if they're from the same factory, even if they're different brands.) I've washed them twice in Woolite on a gentle cycle with an extra rinse and the smell seems to be gone now. Both are slightly transparent, but only "weekends". I wouldn't call them see-through, but they do require a bra that's similar to your skin tone, preferably in a smooth fabric, unless you're planning on wearing it as a layered shirt. White - Pure/bright white for both shirts. Although both shirts are fine knit, the MsBasic shirt is slightly finer and finer knit than APRLL. This difference is only noticeable up close.
