As others have said, this glass is not durable. Bench broken after 11 months of short use. Terrible design with plastic as the main stress point on the hinge. The pitcher was little used, never cursed, there were no children in the house. One day everything worked perfectly, the next morning the lid wouldn't close and the plastic part on the hinge broke. The tin is under warranty, but warranty service is more like going through a glove than just returning an item. After much hassle and emails they informed me that replacement caps have been ordered and will take UP TO 2 MONTHS before I receive a new one. They also noted that I would have to ship it to them at my own expense where they would "evaluate" it to see if I breached the warranty (their call, my word means zip code apparently).
