This new set was bought to replace an old set we had which had the grinders completely worn out. You already have problems in just a few months. When grinding, you must hold the top black plastic part, otherwise it will rotate with the base and the grinder will not grind. We tend to leave the lid closed to make it easier to hold the plastic in place while grinding, then carefully remove the lid to get the ground spice into the lid. For the price, I didn't expect them to last more than a few years, but I didn't expect problems to arise so soon either.
