Sometimes the kitchen is busy at the same time, so I needed a second probe thermometer. I've never liked fancier models, although I appreciate the longer corded probe. It didn't, but I only needed a second thermometer when I need to check multiple things at once. It reads exactly the same as my other trusty thermometer, so I have confidence in its accuracy. Appears to be directly calibrated. As a bonus, it also comes with an extra battery and is magnetic so you can pop it on top of the fridge (assuming you don't have those new batteries that aren't magnetic anymore).
