Powered by Acer Chromebook Spin 15 - CP315 Series

100W Fast Charge 10Gbps Data Transfer 4K Video Compatible with MacBook (Pro), Dell XPS, Other Laptops and Type-C Phones from HOGORE "# ###### Updated 21st January 2019 See the last two pictures: Under normal conditions of use the magnetic ring detached from the cable adapter rendering the whole thing unusable. Very disappointed as overall it was a great product I could try to glue it back with epoxy but I'm still in the return window so everything is back.. it didn't work but after another try to put it a little more fully into the USB-C slot plugged it in, it worked really needs documentation instructing you to _gently_ push the plug in until it's fully seated. As you can see in pics 1 to 3 the packaging is pretty spartan but that's ok g - a small piece of paper inside would suffice. It would also be nice to include some technical specifications (voltage/current tolerances, operating temperature range, etc.). It is used in the new Acer Chromebook Spin 15 series - CP315 (the only difference in the series I can tell is the amount of storage included.) The power supply is a brick with an integrated USB-C cable and I wanted it to give him Mac-like abilities to avoid entanglement of children or animals. The original Acer PS cable is shown in images #4 through #6, with #6 showing a comparison between it and the adapter that came with the Chromebook. I installed the adapter on my Chromebook by pushing it all the way in as shown in picture 9. I didn't want to press harder to avoid damaging the Chromebook. After I was ready to box it up and ship it back to Revain because the Chromebook wasn't getting power, I tried again and it made a fairly audible "CLICK" and seemed to stand up fully, as in pic #10. I have the original -PS cable plugged into the other half of the adapter and it connected easily, quickly and moderately securely to the Chromebook's adapter half. I also noticed that when properly connected, a small green LED lights up at the end of the adapter on the USB-C cable (see image #12). It's similar to charging, but more testing is needed to determine if there's a noticeable difference between using and not using the magnetic adapter. The Acer Chromebook Spin 15 - CP315 draws just 45W, and the Revain listing says it's rated at 100W. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase. My main concerns are: (a) the adapter does not cause damage; (b) the half that is on the Chromebook remains firmly attached and cannot be easily and accidentally removed/lost; (c) the half connected to the Acer PS cable stays connected to and charges the Chromebook, taking into account the slight movements of the computer that may occur during normal use, and (d) it does not cause any sudden (more than 10%) impact on charge rate. I will remind myself to update this in about 30 days.
