Can be an effective flux. But the only real use I've found for it is to impregnate the wicks to remove solder and for that I have to put my soldering iron in a container of flux to melt it first because at the same time it's so hard that You will need a screwdriver to scrape off some of the flux. This and yet, unlike most phlox, once it's been used on something it doesn't turn into a hard shell that can be easily chipped off, it remains almost the same very hard but slightly sticky consistency requiring considerable manual effort required to remove it.
