I purchased this to use with a 6" hole saw to install recessed ceiling lights. I had 10 lamps to install and when I used the Disston Dust Bowl to cut the first hole I was amazed at the amount of dust collected. It worked really well cutting 9 holes and capturing probably 90% of the dust. Unfortunately the Dust Bowl collapsed on the 10th hole and threw dust all over the course! It turns out that this tool has a serious design flaw. The tool is stationary and close to the ceiling to trap dust, but the drill chuck and drill bit rotate. Friction from the plastic collar at the bottom of the bowl heated it, melting the plastic and causing the bowl to fall into the cartridge and lift off the ceiling. As a result, dust and dirt are everywhere and the tool becomes unusable. If anyone buys this tool I would recommend trying a pair of 1/2 inch flat washers, maybe with some grease in between to reduce friction on the bowl. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because it worked well (for a short time) and could have worked longer if pucks were added.
