My wife bought this because she loves to make soups or stews, freeze them in serving containers, and take them to work for lunch to thaw in. Microwave. This works great for this purpose. She takes the frozen cubes and puts them in a ziplock bag and back in the freezer for future meals. Each compartment holds over 1 cup (leaving room for expansion) and features a 4 oz line and another 8 oz line. The top of the bowl is rigid (silicone coated metal) and the lid fits perfectly and completely seals all liquids. The compartments are made of soft silicone, which makes it very easy to remove frozen cubes. It is very dishwasher safe and the silicone withstands extreme temperatures well. My wife wants a second tray so she can make larger batches. Highly recommended.
