Review on 🖨️ ScanSnap S300M Clear 600 DPI USB 10 Page Auto Document Feeder Portable Scanner by Francisco Russell

Bought this (little used and a great price) to scan some of my books for vacation. In terms of scanning, this scanner does not disappoint. I get very clear scans every time. So far no maintenance issues with it, although 10 out of 1000 sheets are going through. My complaints are minor and few: * Sheets sometimes get stuck when going through a large stack of sheets. However, the scan routine allows for a simple restart wherever you are in the scan to start rescanning the error list and keep working.* The artificial limit of 1,000 PDF pages was a problem, but free apps like PDFSAM ([ . ]) solve this problem when it occurs.* The rubber rollers sometimes need to be wiped to remove paper dust, but this is a minor issue that can be fixed quickly.* Pages are sometimes crooked and need to be rescanned (a simple procedure to fix above) . However, the included driver can often correct even a 30º skew and ensure the page is read normally (if the page is less than 8 1/2 inches wide).* Sometimes the color temperature between the two scanning sensors (upper and lower) does not change. always match, but this isn't usually a problem with text documents.* The driver software makes keyboard navigation only slightly more difficult than other applications.* The drive software (runs on Mac OS 10.6.8) recently crashes after saving. A real problem as documents are stored where, when and how I specify, but it can still be confusing. I really appreciate the one button MANUAL operation. The unit folds neatly but is easily accessible for tidying up and cleaning There weren't any real issues. I only wish Fujitsu had come up with an affordable version (or any version for that matter) that could scan 11 x 17 inch or 18 inch wide documents so I could email scan drawings from home.
