Let's start with the good - it's a unique design that's really quite versatile in terms of mounting options. I had no color issues at all, mine look just like the picture. The stands are well made and easy to attach, but inexplicably difficult to remove. Also, these are dynamics - there's nothing further to dig in the physical realm. The problem here is the sound - maybe the reviewers here are being very generous, or maybe they've never had a pair of speakers for more than $50, but either way - the sound isn't great. Perhaps this could serve as a slight upgrade over built-in speakers in a TV, or surround back speakers in a home theater setup, but they're out of the question to discuss something like 'good' for music. The highs are piercing, but the lows are not. They aren't able to produce loads of bass, presumably due to the small drivers and shallow depth, but I think I expected more based on the rave reviews here. I hooked them up to a 320kbps Sonos amp and detail was clearly lost - they just couldn't play the notes I'm familiar with on some of my favorite test songs. I switched the cable back to a set of 20-year-old Mission bookshelf speakers (m71i) that anyone can buy on eBay for a hundred bucks, and the richness of the mids and lows immediately returned to the song. Anyone who has ever used hi-fi equipment and developed a certain affinity for it will not be happy with music - not even in the hoped-for small offices. There is a quest.
