Review on Upgrade Your Styling Tool with Olivia Garden Ceramic Ion Large Brush by Amy Walker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Strong and very thin hair that I need a brush for.

So I ordered this brush after a long and sometimes excruciatingly difficult search for an "uncurved" (ie basic blade shape / curved along 1 axis only) vented paddle brush. I knew that with my very long, thick, strong and extremely fine hair I was going to need a brush with a large aerated surface and a stiff one. After only finding "curved" examples of this, I finally stumbled across this brush. It seems to work well, it really isn't rounded like some of the other options and has adequate ventilation, but I have two main complaints: First, the bristles aren't as stiff as I'm used to with my brushes, and they don't offer it really the resistance my hair needs to detangle (especially when wet). Second, the picture of this brush shows that it has a double-sided shank (i.e. top view: front with bristles attached and back). a face that reflects a face but no bristles) but the brush I received has only one surface with bristles. I would have liked the added strength and weight of the plastic backing and really chose this brush based on the top view image. It seems that Olivia Garden once sold this brush with a double-sided design, but now all the sellers and the Olivia Garden website only show one face. Beware. Otherwise it's definitely exactly what I was looking for. Although I will still be looking for a brush that can give as much as this one and also avoids the two problems I had.
