When I first started using this hemp wick I noticed a few things I liked about it. Before that I used unbleached RAW hemp wick that I bought at a local smoking store. In comparison, EricX's hemp wick tastes cleaner and has noticeably less wax. In fact, I usually put out the flame when I want to put it out because, like any hemp wick, blowing it out will stop the fire, but will keep smoking as long as the charcoal keeps burning. A light coat of wax makes this easier compared to a heavier coat on RAW which would have left a pretty decent amount of hot wax on my fingers after the black stain left by washing the wax off. A little on the painful side, but not that bad. With this wick, not much wax heats up in direct contact with the flame, so the flame goes out faster without black spots or finger burns. The downside to lighter wax is that it burns faster and less controllably than a thicker coated wick, but if you use it consistently and know how to control the flame, this isn't necessarily a problem, but a potential benefit.
