Don't buy from Old Dutch!
The entire inside of the kettle that was sent to me was not tinned but coppered with a permanent green coating. It can be toxic if consumed by humans. I emailed the company and called to no avail. I thought it might be a manufacturing defect and sent it back for a new one. They sent a new one and it wasn't tin plated either. This one also came with a broken lid. The top of the lid was connected with a screw glued to the porcelain. This is a nice kettle, but it's neither functional nor safe to use. The effort is definitely not worth it.
