We live in a small 1920's plantation house with 6 and 9 pane windows and needed some privacy from the street and neighbors. The end product was surprisingly impressive, giving us the privacy we craved at the front of the house while still letting in enough light. It looks authentic, not like plastic wrap, and it's easy to remove if you make a mistake during installation (although pricey). ). I paid $20 for a reel that was in "like new" condition. A paper cutter would probably save a lot of time to make each sheet of glass, but we measured each piece individually, marked with a marker and cut with scissors. As other reviewers have pointed out, diluted soapy water, a spray bottle, and a credit card are crucial during installation to remove air bubbles between the film and the glass. I don't think I could do this alone. The setup was more efficient when 2 people identified and removed the bubbles before the soapy water solution evaporated. Since we started with the Artscape brand, we plan to buy more so the etch pattern is consistent throughout the home. In the areas that we have completed, the product has become great. We work from home on the weekends so it was slow but the first foil has been running for almost a year now without yellowing or peeling or any problems and you can tell the difference between the foil we recently installed and the one that we have installed don't recognize . . . initially. Satisfied and will buy again.
