Review on High Dynamic Range BenQ PD2700U Professional Monitor with Anti Glare Screen - 3840x2160 HD by David Scalia

I had a great 24" Viewsonic but it's about 5 years old. I'm older and have poor eyesight which is made worse by sitting in front of a computer 12 hours a day. Did I want to go to 32"? I've read so many reviews about monitors that my eyes are crossed. If I went to 32", I would have to upgrade my graphics card, which I really didn't want to do. I'm not a gamer, so I didn't think it was worth the extra cost. That was my deciding factor in choosing a 27 -"TV. Enough of my background. Now here's what I think of it. As expected, it arrived in 2 days and I was I was immediately impressed with how well it was packaged when attaching the base and mic hook. I connected it via the dfi port first it was automatically recognized on the 1440p It also recognized my keyboard and mouse when I plugged them into the USB ports The preset colors look good but aren't really any better than my old Viewsonic. That's when I started to have no regrets. I went for 32" but to be honest 32" would probably be too big so I'm holding this size for more practical. I experimented with the Windows 10 display settings until I found the size of the fonts and icons to my liking. NOTE: although included on the CD that came with it says the driver will NOT install it on my I went to Benq and downloaded it I then went into Device Manager and manually updated the monitor driver from the base Microsoft to the Benq driver Pros: I like the software that comes with it because the buttons the adjustments are on the back and hard to use they have to be on the front you can adjust the basic settings very easily with the software I like the blue light filter which I think helps my eyes will, but it takes some getting used to There was no dead pixel, otherwise no problems with the quality of the product. Very high-quality workmanship, the stand is stable on the table and does not wobble. I really like that I can adjust its height and that it turns quite far to the right. Not many monitors. Cons: I really don't like the placement of the ports. It was quite difficult to see when plugged in as they were low and under the monitor section but I think as you only plug them in once there is nothing to complain about. I also don't like that there isn't a quick and easy button to change input. I know most people don't use 2 PCs like me, but this poses a problem for me. Although the colors are bright and the images are sharp, it doesn't live up to the general hype. But the price is right for a good IPS. It came with a set of cables but NO DisplayPort cable. I mean Benq, if you offer a monitor that accepts DP, ditch the cable. At least I got it working with the included mini DP cable. Conclusion: In everything that concerns me, I am satisfied with what I got for the price. This is a good all-round monitor for everyday computing. With a 60Hz refresh rate, this wouldn't be great for gamers. I just hope it lasts as long as my old one.
