My first reaction was that it was a cheap plastic product. But modern plastics can be pretty strong and are well put together and do a good job. Given the price, this is excellent value for money. If you have plumbing experience, installation shouldn't be difficult, but care must be taken to avoid leaks. Carefully cut the plastic tube with a razor blade; or sharp pincers; to get a "clean" end that slides easily into the compression fittings. You can also stick Teflon tape on the connection threads under the faucet. Finally, go to a hardware store and buy a brass compression fitting to connect the supplied plastic tubing to your plumbing. I wouldn't use the plastic fitting that came with it. It will also be easy to install new filters. The design seems very good.
