Having never owned a knitting machine before, I just took a chance. I was pleasantly surprised by their quality. The pins are well attached and smooth - they definitely don't snag on the yarn and you get 4 different sized looms! I love the included pom pom makers! YouTube has great tutorial videos for making and knitting ANYTHING, so if you're wondering if you should take the plunge, I encourage you! I liked knitting on these looms and quickly got used to the knitting conditions (pearl stitch, circular movements, nakid, etc. ) and ready for hatching (I've made 5 hats in the last 3 days - is my family lucky, or something!) I received a separate "ergonomic hook" which I love, but actually the one that comes with this set in sufficient quality that you don't need. I recommend this brand!
