UPDATE: I've been using these bags for 2 years now. I've only had 1 time that I can remember where the bag leaked. And I can only remember twice that the bag was torn, and that was because something sharp tore the bag from the inside. One order of these bags (500 carats) lasts us for more than a year. Still happy with these bags! I was really hesitant to buy these after reading some of the reviews but the other organic brand we use was out of stock. We've been using biodegradable bags for about 2 years and I've learned to be careful with them so I figured I could probably handle these bags, although I do complain about how flimsy they are. When I opened the first package I was very surprised. how thin they feel. I can see where they may tear when you first peel off the edges of the packaging to open it. But once opened, these packages are very strong. We've been using them for over a month now and haven't had a single tear or leak in the bag. I am so impressed with these bags that I have no plans to go back to any other brand that I have used. I gave out a few bags to family and friends for them to try. Definitely recommend trying them out.
