I have microplates for grating small amounts of cheese, but for larger amounts I have always used a grater (and inevitably rubbed my fingers). I recently came across such a grater on AirBnb and I really liked it. This allows me to process the cheese quickly and is convenient to use. It's easier to keep clean than a box grater and less likely to cut off a piece of your finger. Highly recommended.
