Review on BTECH Mini UV 25X2 Mobile Radio by Adam Gechem

Revainrating 1 out of 5

All in all a great radio with just a couple of minor flaws which I really shouldn't complain about but I will complain because I can

There are some good reviews that I won't repeat. My conclusion is the following. overall very impressed. I LOVE that you can fully customize all the background and text colors on the screen. If you are partially color blind, this is a blessing. Next, I like the size. It's extremely compact and I was happy to see that it has a fan. Some of the cheaper Chinese radios don't do this. It makes me more comfortable to use it for a long time. You can enter frequencies directly from the keypad on the mic, but you'll have to go through the typical Baofeng menu structure to change the repeater mode, offset, tones, and so on. If you remember the menu numbers, it's not bad, but it's more difficult. than some analogues of well-known brands. I'm not a big fan of the PTT button on the mic, it's big and sticks out a bit. I'm also not a big fan of the need for a different programming cable. I have HT cables, RJ45 cables, serial cables, etc. This is a 1/8" stereo USB cable. You need it if you want to program it. It is possible to program without a computer/data cable, but you must have a day off and a lot of patience. If you are impatient and try to program manually, you will probably put it in the window before completing the task. Sound quality is good, power consumption is good, usability is good (once programmed and even for a VFO). Overall I'm quite impressed and would call it a good buy. I would like another one!
