this definitely seems a lot better than the gasket that came with my new EGR valve which was just a thin piece of metal. It's thicker and has a kind of soft feel and just feels more premium. When you consider how much trouble a blown gasket can cause, there's no point in skimping on one when it's only $6 for a good one. This was for a 2000 Cadillac Deville and it fits like it should.
