They fold it super tight and wrap it in plastic so the creases don't really come out. Had it sitting for 4 days now with a flat plastic mat on it and two vacuums on top and the creases are still there. No way you can get this in a washing machine and have it not get ruined it barely fits and needs to be folded over to fit in a large top loading machine.No care instructions so I did not wash it, does not say if it can go in the dryer either. Non-slip backing is a joke, it's not rubbery it's dry and crispy and slides on a hard floor. The edges are raised and completely not suitable for a chair to be rolling on it.The design is cool and my dogs like laying it and those are the only positive qualities of this complete waste of money.
