Review on ๐ŸŒŸ Enhance Visibility and Safety with the Five Oceans Combination Masthead and Deck Light โ€“ Featuring Bulb and LED! by Neil Bodell

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Works but cheap quality junk: Spend $20-$30 more for a better font.

It has 2 stars because it works and the LEDs are bright. This is cheap junk. I replaced a weathered 20 year old forend with this one. That's why 3 stars are missing: 1. It rests on a curved mast. FLAPS STRAIGHT. To bend them around the mast of a 26ft sailboat I had to use a heat gun for about 5 minutes to get the plastic flexible enough not to damage it. They have a relief, but if they at least started at 45 degrees it would be better.2. There is no space for wiring. Usually the wire comes out of the pole and is then soldered or crimped to the wires from the lights. Rear has 1/8" to 1/4" clearance for cables (requires 3 connectors). So unless your joints are very thin they will sit on top of the wires.3. The wires are very thin. The wiring to the LED is the same as you would expect, but the wiring to the smoke light looks like wire that could be used in a toy.4. The bolts for the top and bottom block stick out underneath (not much), but they can scratch or cut the anodized mast.5. Only 2 mounting holes. The front spar has 4. The plastic on the outside of the mounting holes is very flimsy so after a few years and UV I see it cracking. I drilled 2 additional holes on each side for rivets.6. As the flaps curve around the mast, the canopy body flexes in the middle. Don't waste your money. Spend 20-30$ more to get a better one.
