I use the actual function of this seat quite often. You can lean back in the seat for a while during the ride to relax. Finally, all seats restrict blood flow, allowing you to move to the active part of the seat, which helps restore blood flow. I alternate between these positions and stand on the pedals and feel no pain at the end of a long day. The seat springs add lateral movement to the seat, which when added to my seatpost suspension can make things a bit unstable. However, it seems to provide support exactly where it's needed and is actually very handy. Not sure how important the airflow feature is as your shorts are still blocking airflow. In the picture I added above, the taillight is attached to the underside of the seat.
