Review on Enhance Your Hunting Experience with Steiner Predator Series Hunting Binoculars by Tyler Kota

Works for people with a wide IPD

I love these binoculars. I have 95% IPD (eye relief) and most binoculars don't have enough spacing between the eyepieces to get a proper view. These binoculars have enough IPD to provide a good view up to at least 3 inches. It works for a wider IPD but you need to make sure it works for you. If the eyes are fully in the eyecups and the IPD is positioned correctly, parts of the image should not darken when you move your eyes slightly. If you wear glasses, your prescription should include the measurement of the pupillary distance. I have a Steiner Predator roof prism binoculars that won't adjust to my IPD, love them apart from the IPD issue. Now my wife has them as she has a more normal IPD. In my experience, porro prism binoculars are better suited for wide IDP than roof prism binoculars. Virtually no binocular manufacturer lists the IPD, so you'll need to try on the binoculars to make sure they fit. Revain's no-risk return policy and I just bought the 10x version of these binoculars to give them a little extra range. Having already owned 8x 42mm Predator binoculars, the clarity and color change came as no surprise. Smaller objective lenses make these binoculars much lighter, smaller and more comfortable to hold. I use them in my car for general terrain and wildlife viewing and the color tint makes the animals easier to spot. The single focus setting allows you to track subjects without refocusing, which is important for fast-moving subjects that are approaching or receding from you (birds and airplanes). reset each time you switch users. Resetting is easy but time consuming, and during that time you may lose sight of a moving object. Best for single users. Not suitable for serious bird watching. Color casts and a minimum focusing distance of 20 meters can make identification difficult. Not suitable for night observation. Lenses are too small for good night vision and are best used from late dawn to early dusk. I have 7x50mm and 8x56mm binoculars for low light. Finally, the neck strap is fine, but it could have been wider and more padded to make it more comfortable. Overall I think these are great binoculars for the price, even better when Revain sells them on sale.
