The trick is. - Hospitality & Entertainment

Yes, the cover is difficult to remove. The point is to pull the nose first, then the sides, and then it will break the seal and come loose. I like this tight fit and don't have to worry about it falling off and spilling. I like this pitcher because I can see through it since I don't keep water in the fridge. One day an ant got there and I saw it immediately. The lid has a "fully open" pouring side and a "semi-closed" pouring side. UPDATE: My fingers are the strongest part of me (the old typist). Therefore, in my attempts to rip this lid off, I overcompensate for the grip and tear a small vein of blood in my fingers, causing pain. If I can't find a way to make it a little looser, I'll have to shop again.
