Review on SL33B Stereo Program Limiter by Rolls by Ronald Bleimeyer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's a volume limiter, not an automatic volume control

I can't hear well and need an automatic volume control. That's the volume limiter. It makes a (clapping?) noise when adjusting the volume. If you try to use it as AVC, turning the big knob up and using the smaller "limiter" knob to adjust the volume, you get this constant popping noise at the peaks of the audio. If you use it to limit loud commercials, it works well, except for audio peak distortion. The sheet that came with it doesn't say how to set it up. Set the TV volume to medium or maximum and the sound system to near medium volume. With the small knob set at 12 o'clock or higher, turn the large volume knob to get a comfortable volume. Then turn the small knob counter-clockwise until the red LED (left) starts to blink slightly. This should limit loud commercials without affecting normal volume programs.
