Review on Lisle 45100 Brake Spring Tool by Muleme Bollinger

This is a great tool. I've been using it regularly for over 3 years. This tool easily removes brake pad holders on many vehicles. The silver protrusion on the end of the tool spins freely and is used to apply pressure to the spring. When the spring is depressed, rotating the handle rotates the tool shank. The shank of the tool fits over the locking pin. So when you rotate the handle, the pin rotates so you can line it up with the hole and then the pad retainer can be removed. This tool doesn't work on all cars, though it works surprisingly well. This tool says to import, but it also works on many American cars. The photos show the use on a Jeep Wrangler.
