I, like other reviewers, got over 150 watts of output as stated in the description! This is a first impression rating rather than my usual experience rating. This little compact heater was procured to preheat my 3D printer body for high performance filaments (ASA, Nylon, etc.). This 150w heater arrived quickly, in a box marked 180w!?! The first dyno test (with my 30 amp PSU providing 12.3 VDC) showed it started immediately at 9.5 amps, then quickly rose to 15.6 amps and stayed at that level, consumption +0.1 /-0.15 amps. In the second test, although I didn't monitor it as closely, after a few minutes of operation it drew 15.1+ amps, a similar voltage. I appreciate the extra heat (190W +/-), it runs through the control relay originally set up, so a different order. While I steer manually. So I'm limiting my rating to 3 stars for now. The first real world test, just sitting on my printer's cold table prior to installation, allowed the case (see image - heater in lower right corner) to heat up from 24° to 40°C (104°F) C (75° F). ) in about 40 minutes, working alone. Once installed, with the nozzle and table up to operating temperature, the case temperature was brought up to 45°C (113°F) in 16 minutes and with continued work I am confident that I could reach the recommended 50°C maximum installation without additional cooling for the cold end. The mounting tabs on the device seem to serve a pretty specific purpose, as they face opposite directions with a wobbly misalignment and their odd orientation doesn't match the intended attachment I had in mind. Judging by the picture, I cut them off! The extra heat dissipation seems perfect for my use (5 stars on the "Heat Dissipation" performance rating), allowing the case to pick up speed faster (maybe I can move the printer to a cool basement?), but going the wrong way is no good, to order parts for it. case specifically for this) it's actually better to order a replacement as my main materials Optima won't print on its own without a heated case. However, based on some of the other reviews, the output of the next device could be here or there, unless the underperforming reviews are outdated and the issue has been fixed on purpose by the vendor. UPDATE: after +3 months of occasional use. With operating times ranging from 1 to 12 hours, the heater still performs well, even better than expected, confirming its longevity. Checking with an ammeter shows it still works at 150 watts or more. Changed original rating from 3 to 4 stars and yes I bought another unit as a backup and will consider this unit for other DC heating projects. Do not skimp on the power supply, relays and wiring for this device!
