Setup is easy: plug the green connector into your computer, plug the USB connector into the appropriate port and voila, the speakers work. Or are you? Well, apart from a bit of a loud and continuous hum, they work as expected. When I played the movie I could hear the audio - subtle but nonetheless. But the volume is bad. Even with the volume control on the speakers turned all the way down, I had to crank the volume up to about 70% on my computer for this movie. And of course, the volume of the hum has also increased, making it impossible to drown out the hum with the right sound. With my other speakers (which don't hum), I had to set my computer's audio controls to about 20% for the same sound level. I'll keep these speakers for emergencies. In any case, you shouldn't give them back for 7 dollars. They're small enough to fit in a small box, so that's where they'll be from now on. Now I have to go back in search of the best pair of cheap speakers.
