Bought these to provide haulage for a 19ft sea kayak over 2500 miles. I already knew that at highway speeds the length of my kayak would cause it to move or even move my foam blocks and Thule rack set. It drove me crazy These J rods did a great job of keeping my kayak boom straight during a bumpy 2500+ mile ride. The length of my kayak was again an issue initially, but thanks to the strong attachment of the J-Rods to the Jeep roof rack, the end result was a bomber. They are good for loading a kayak onto aero or flat handlebars. But on the old round Yakima handlebars, they tip over predictably. Easy to attach, easy to detach, easy to adjust on the go, and most importantly, easy to assemble. Excellent value for money!
